About Inngrain
Heritage
Making contract furniture in a Victorian cotton mill in Rochdale since 1999 — frame making, upholstery and polishing all under one roof.

Who we are
A complex blend that produced a genuinely unusual company.
Inngrain Furniture Ltd was established in 1999 by three very different characters: a designer from Manchester, a chair maker from Greece and a cabinet maker from the Caribbean. A complex blend that has resulted in a unique company, providing unique products for the hospitality industry nationwide.
Working with award-winning designers has helped Inngrain Furniture to grow and mature into one of the UK's leading providers of high-quality contract furniture.
Heritage
How we got here.
1999
Three makers, one mill. Inngrain Furniture Ltd is established by a designer from Manchester, a chair maker from Greece and a cabinet maker from the Caribbean, working out of an old Victorian cotton mill in Rochdale.
2000s
Themed pubs, nationwide. Work for pub and restaurant chains — particularly themed operators — takes the workshop from single rooms to multi-site programmes and teaches us how to build consistently at volume.
2010s
Designers and architects. Collaborations with award-winning designers broaden the range into lounge seating, outdoor furniture and matched schemes across whole buildings.
Today
Still all in house. Frame making, upholstery, polishing and finishing all still happen under the same roof, with the same no-minimum-order approach we started with.
The workshop
A Victorian cotton mill, echoing again.
Providing everything necessary for your project, all works are undertaken in-house from frame making to the final product. We have a highly skilled and motivated workforce — time served, and proud of it.
We are located in an old Victorian cotton mill that once again echoes with the sound of highly skilled artisans turning paper ideas into real pieces of furniture for the public to enjoy.
Be assured every item is checked and re-checked for quality. Nothing is going to spoil an unblemished record that brings designers and architects back time and time again.

What that means for you
Three things that follow from doing it all ourselves.
Everything in-house
Frame making, upholstery, polishing and finishing all happen under one roof in Rochdale. Nothing is subcontracted, so nothing gets lost between suppliers.
Bespoke as standard
Most of what leaves this building started as a one-off. Send a drawing, a photograph or a sample chair and we will build a prototype before you commit to anything.
Checked and re-checked
Every item is inspected before it leaves. An unblemished record is what brings designers and architects back to us project after project.
How we work
Brief, sample, workshop, delivery.
Four stages — and you approve something physical before any of the expensive ones start.
Brief
Send a drawing, a photograph or a rough sketch. For fixed seating we come out, measure and template the room before anything is cut.
Sample
You get a firm price and, for anything bespoke, a physical sample to approve. Nothing goes into production until you have signed off something real.
Workshop
Frames are cut and jointed, seats sprung or webbed, timber polished to your finish and everything assembled and inspected in house.
Delivery
Delivered nationwide and, for fixed seating, fitted by our own team in a single visit so the room reopens on schedule.
Nothing is going to spoil an unblemished record that brings designers and architects back time and time again.

Responsibility
Repairable is the most sustainable thing furniture can be.
The greenest chair is the one you already own. Because our frames are made properly in the first place, they can be stripped, re-webbed and reupholstered instead of skipped — and we will do that work even on furniture we did not originally make.
Timber comes from managed European and North American sources. Offcuts feed back into smaller components, and we keep records of what we made for you, so a matching addition in eight years' time is a phone call rather than a redesign.

Tell us what the room needs to do.
Send a drawing, a photograph or a rough sketch and we will come back with a price, a sample and an honest lead time. No minimum order.
